Not one. Please help me, OPPO.

Wait....are they selling the car for more money?
Or are they calling this catastrophic accident a "feature" and marking the car up?

Downforce?

The airflow is totally fucked coming out of the cabin. It's just a big drag-producing fin at that point.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:37 |

This is so absurd I'd daily drive it just for the giggles.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:38 |

No. Someone paid them (a lot) to do this.

they did a shit job at cleaning that car

Perfect.

Then the VTEC must be involved...

The extra 400+ pounds wasn't enough?

Ew.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:39 |

You know what works great for directing airflow around the outside of a car?
A FUCKING ROOF.

Shows you how much they think of this project...

That is a word (I think).
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:41 |

Well atleast it's just an M4 convertible...
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:44 |

This is what's hilarious - that wing, the benefit of which can really only be realized at a track, is mounted on a car that BMWCCA will not allow at their track events.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:44 |

According to the dictionary it is.

total fail

Pretty sure that's what he was going for.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:47 |

I think this is what went down....
Buyer: I want you to take this perfectly fine, brand new M4 and do something crazy!
Shop: What do you have in mind?
Buyer: A WIIIINNNGGGNGNG!!! Like a ginormous one. I know - engineering is expensive. Like, I doesn't really need to generate down force though. I think its more important that my wing tells people I has down force. If you can get the wing to text people around it things like "Racecar!" and "Down force bruh!", I'd be interested in that feature!
Shop: Shuuure, grrreat ideah! We can do that for $20 grand!
Buyer: Deal!
Shop: *facepalm*
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:47 |

I mean in theory it should work with the roof up, but you've got the added weight of the roof crap AND the wing? Understeer as fuck.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:50 |
|
They actually cite the carbon diffuser to "help airflow" Yeah bro, for sure.
Just as bad as buying a TT Bicycle and then wearing cargo shorts on rides.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:50 |

Word for word.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:56 |

Actually the heavy rood mechanism makes is more rear-biased than its siblings, so in theory, it'd be more tail-happy than the others (assuming you can break it loose with all the extra weight - and downforce - working on the rear tires). Ha!
![]() 02/16/2015 at 17:58 |
|
Poser-mobile, for sure.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:00 |

At least its a RWD car, then its a civic DX I just laugh at the stickers and the wing.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:00 |

Table surfaces at the track are extremely limited
Outside of that, someone has been playing too much Need for Speed...
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:03 |

I'll always laugh harder at the guy that wasted more money...
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:06 |

With the roof up it should do something, but its still stupid. I'd love to see the aero data for the car in a wind tunnel with the top down. Massive swirl by the rear headrests causing a huge, slow dirty air mess right in front of the wing.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:06 |
|
Wait, you're claiming the buyer actually made a coherent sentence using modern English words.

:/

I refuse to believe that this is real lol.

Orthogonal to ns.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:23 |
|
I guess that when you drive it on the track, bro , you're supposed to put the top up.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:28 |
|
Well of course, that wing should not be on there unless its at the track!
![]() 02/16/2015 at 18:36 |
|
I agree! And, that car should never be on a track. I like convertibles, in fact I have two of them, but there's no way any convertible without a real roll bar (not a "style bar") should ever set tire on any race track.

just kill me now.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 19:21 |

This metallic diarrhea color is strangely growing on me. I'm afraid to see what the rest of the car looks like though, based on this convertible.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 19:59 |

There are no explanations. It would take past our lifetimes to figure this one out. But I would i agree on that theory of wasting money from playing too much Need for Speed.

Dickhole. Yes. Dickhole is the word.
![]() 02/16/2015 at 21:23 |

I have no respect for the person who did this.

Metallic diarrhea sounds very painful.

Cue a bazillion replies of "that looks like shit"
Flamesuit on, I like it. Wings are cool. What of it.
![]() 02/17/2015 at 09:08 |
|
It's definitely something one should get checked out immediately.
![]() 02/17/2015 at 11:03 |

Wings are cool if functional and you actually using it at the track, not when slapping one on a poser-mobile.
The M4 convertible weighs almost 500 lbs more than the coupe, and convertibles aren't even allowed at many track events for safety reasons.
![]() 02/17/2015 at 12:10 |
|
That's your opinion, and I respect that, and I also disagree. If a wing looks cool, then it is cool. Functionality means nothing. Most cars have vastly more power than they need to do what 99% of them do everyday, are they then uncool purely because the rest of the power is never used? Nobody needs grippy summer tires on the road everyday, does that make people who have them instantly uncool? You kinda see what I'm getting at here. Just because it's not useful at the track and is purely for looks doesn't automatically make it uncool. Conversely, a car that can only be taken to the limits on a track isn't invalidated from coolness because the person who owns it never goes on a trackday.

Guys, guys....it's all okay because he put the wind deflector on.
![]() 02/20/2015 at 08:37 |

Ha! That just ties it all together...

First of, what!? seriously? Ivine BMW must pay for this atrocity.
Also, I couldn't pull up our old conversation but in about 30 minutes I'm going to get my eyes tested and pick up my first pair of contact lenses!
![]() 02/22/2015 at 15:19 |

So I ended up getting contacts (monthlys), I thought I need to change up some things in my life after my recent big change (The post with the CTSV) .
I LOVE THEM! Never realized how little I was seeing even with glasses to contacts. The contacts have no glare, are so much more comfortable and kind of feel good.
Only issues I'm having is putting them in takes forever haha and adjusting distances like from phone to the street takes a few seconds.
